Community Residence
and the Manning Park Experience
Living in our staff residences is an experience
in itself! Residences are a short walk or bike from work. Employees
may have their own room or share with one other person. You share
furnished common areas such as the kitchen, bathroom and living
room with 2-10 other people. There are no pets and no smoking
allowed in staff houses.
There is no rent! Instead we only charge a bi-weekly
utility/maintenance fee of no more than $125. A damage deposit
of $200 is taken off your first few pay cheques. Employees cook
for themselves and provide their own bedding and personal items.
If you have a motor home or trailor, you can park it at one of
our staff sites with septic, electricity and running water. Utilities and fees to be determined.
Staff benefits include food discounts at the country
store, restaurant and bar, free or discounted rentals and inexpensive
staff accommodation. Free season's pass in the winter and limited
free camping in the summer, staff functions and more...
The resort is busy is the spring/summer with
bus tours, campers and summer travelers and hikers. Staff activities
in the summer include hiking, free canoeing on Lightning Lake,
mountain biking, tennis, camping, fishing, beach volleyball, fitness
centre and swimming pool. Events such as tennis, volleyball and
golf tournaments, bowling and movie nights are arranged by the
community council.
Winter in the park is an experience that compliments
the scenery and activities in the summer. Our downhill ski area
offers a terrain park, two double chairs, one handle tow and a
t-bar serving a wide variety of terrain for all levels of skiing.
The cross-country trail system has 30km of track-set trails and
160km of wilderness touring trails. Staff are given a complimentary
season's pass, free lessons and free or discounted equipment rentals.
Whether you cross-country, downhill, ski or snow board, the dry
snow and great weather allow for some fantastic snow play. Additional
staff activities include ice skating, tobogganing, holiday festivities
and the season's end Quadrathalon race.
