Community Residence and the Manning Park Experience

Living in our staff residences is an experience in itself! Residences are a short walk or bike from work. Employees may have their own room or share with one other person. You share furnished common areas such as the kitchen, bathroom and living room with 2-10 other people. There are no pets and no smoking allowed in staff houses.

There is no rent! Instead we only charge a bi-weekly utility/maintenance fee of no more than $100. A damage deposit of $200 is taken off your first few pay cheques. Employees cook for themselves and provide their own bedding and personal items. If you have a motor home or trail or, you can park it at one of our staff sites with septic, electricity and running water for $85/two weeks plus the cost of your propane.

Staff benefits include food discounts at the country store, restaurant and bar, free or discounted rentals and inexpensive staff accommodation. Free season's pass in the winter and limited free camping in the summer, staff functions and more...

The resort is busy is the spring/summer with bus tours, campers and summer travelers and hikers. Staff activities in the summer include hiking, free canoeing on Lightning Lake, mountain biking, tennis, camping, fishing, beach volleyball, fitness centre and swimming pool. Events such as tennis, volleyball and golf tournaments, bowling and movie nights are arranged by the community council.

Winter in the park is an experience that compliments the scenery and activities in the summer. Our downhill ski area offers a terrain park, two double chairs, one handle tow and a t-bar serving a wide variety of terrain for all levels of skiing. The cross-country trail system has 30km of track-set trails and 160km of wilderness touring trails. Staff are given a complimentary season's pass, free lessons and free or discounted equipment rentals. Whether you cross-country, downhill, ski or snow board, the dry snow and great weather allow for some fantastic snow play. Additional staff activities include ice skating, tobogganing, holiday festivities and the season's end Quadrathalon race.
