Beaver Pond Trail - Easy
This is a groomed trail for use by both snowshoer's and cross-country
skiers. To access go to the bottom of the toboggan hill, across
the road and turn left at the ski trail junction. The trail is 2km
one way.
Canyon Nature Trail - Easy

West Similkameen Trail - Easy
The West Similkameen trail
is easy with no elevation change. The trail begins at the Similkameen
River Bridge and follows the river east. This is a flat trail which
winds though the forest beside the river offering beautiful views
of the snow and ice covered river. The trail is 2km to the WIndy
Joe trail junction, it then continues towards the Monument 78 (Castle
Creek) trail.
Lightning Lake Loop - Easy
This is an easy hike with no elevation
change. The loop is 9km around the entire lake, and less if you
cross at Rainbow bridge. Expect some animal tracks, beautiful views
of the snow covered lake and sun-touched mountains in the valley.
This is a well-used trail which is easy to find. The ice thickness
is not tested so travel across the lake is not recommended.
Blackwall Peak - Strenuous
Blackwall Peak is a difficult trail gaining about 500m of elevation.
The trail is a wide road which is closed to vehicle traffic in the
winter. The trail offers views of the valley within 20 minutes of
walking. There are many view points along the way and the south
exposure makes this a warm hike on a sunny day. This is a full day
hike - give yourself 6 hours to return.
Poland Lake - Strenuous
The trail head is on the horseshoe trail in the alpine area. Snowshoer's
are not permitted on the ski lifts and can hike up the Horseshoe
Run to the trail head. The trail is about 12km return from the Alpine
Shop. There is a small hut at the lake which marks a good place
for a lunch break. The trail is marked with flagging tape and markers.
Expect to take 5-6 hours return depending on trail conditions.
Windy Joe - Strenuous The Windy Joe trail is well maintained
and wide. It begins at the Similkameen River Bridge and follows
the Similkameen River east for 2km. Once the trail reaches the bottom
of Windy Joe Mountain it climbs on a switchback road for approximately
3 hours. At the top there is a fire lookout tower and great views
of the mountains. Expect a 7 hour return trip.
