The nights are getting colder and the days are getting shorter, but there are still many adventures to be had and many memories to be made this fall at Manning Park.
Take part in one of these great activities when you visit Manning Park this fall:
Boat Rentals: Our boathouse is open throughout the fall (weather and activity levels permitting) so you can explore Lightning Lake and the surrounding fall foliage via canoe, kayak, and stand up paddleboard. Make sure to check the hours of operation before you come.
Hiking: The trails are calling, and there’s nothing more stunning than a walk through a forest of changing leaves. The trails quiet down and you can often find yourself completely alone and at peace on the trail. The famous larches up on Mount Frosty will start to change at the end of September into their incredible golden glory, so be sure not to miss out.
Stargazing: As the days get shorter, the stars come out earlier! The Dark Sky in Manning Park offers some of the best stargazing around. With multiple viewing locations and very limited light pollution, the views are incredible. You can also rent a telescope from the front desk to enhance your stargazing experience.
Mountain Biking: Explore the park on 2 wheels! Take your pick of breathtaking trails; there is something for every age and experience level.
Know Before You Go:
As the Icelandic people say; “There is no bad weather, just bad clothing!” The weather changes quickly up here in the mountains, so make sure to check the conditions before you come, dress appropriately, and bring extra layers.
Happy Adventuring!
